[ Handpoke/Stick & Poke Tattoo ]

De a poco y muy piolamente, he ido desarrollando esta técnica de tatuaje manual (sin máquina, o sea, puntito por puntito con la aguja más fina de tatuar) desde Septiembre del 2014, cuando hice mi primer auto-tatuaje.

Handpoke Tattoo is a machine free technique that I've been quietly experimenting, learning and developing since September 2014, when I did my first self-tattoo.

Nadie me ha enseñado este arte, lo he aprendido experimentando en amigos que han confiado en que marque su piel... 
Primero empecé en mí porque yo misma quise dejarme un mensaje permanente, y luego a mis amigos que también querían letras o símbolos pequeños.

No one has taught me this artistry, I've learned through experience thanks to few friends that have trusted allowing me to mark their skin.
It all started with the interest to make permanents marks in my skin with messages for myself and then friends that wanted small symbols or letter tattoos.

Cuando fui a Los Ángeles por primera vez (2015) tuve la increíble experiencia de asistir a una sesión de tatuaje en High Voltage (de Kat Von D), y ahí conocí al tatuador thailandés Khoi Nguyen que compartió conmigo un poco de su conocimiento sobre las técnicas ancestrales de su cultura porque yo le conté de mi interés y le mostré mi tatuaje... Me impresionó cómo se dió un tiempo para enseñarme y luego mostrarme un documental. Ultramega agradecida de esa oportunidad porque cambió mi visión, fue como un -level uP!- en sólo 2 horas.

When I came to L.A. the first time (2015) I had the amazing experience of assisting a tattoo session in High Voltage, where the tattoo artist Khoi Nguyen shared with me some of his knowledge about the history of Thai Tattoo and the ancestral techniques, I showed him my interest and my tattoo and I was impressed how he gave some of his time to talk to me and even show me a documentary.  I am really grateful for that encounter because it changed my vision, it was like a -level uP!- in just 2 hours.



I have never been around the tattoo artistry, that's why I started to get into it with a naive point of view.
Even though I respect the past and the traditions that I've learned, I believe that I'm living my own experience here and now, and I've found these tools as something to create meaningful art.

I've done 8 tattoos so far. I use sterilized tattoo needles and vegan tattoo ink. I wear latex free gloves. I work in a clean area, etc... I mean. Of course.
